University of Adelaide reopened after merger and transformation

A new Australian university, Adelaide University, was officially opened, which was created by the merger of two major institutions in the country: the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia. The multi-year process of combining academic programs, student services, research activities, and campus operations was completed only this year. Now the academic family of the newly minted university includes almost 70,000 students, the first intake at Adelaide University will take place at the end of January.

Thanks to the past merits of two Australian universities, this university is already included in the group of the best in the country - Group of Eight, occupying a position in the world ranking of the top 100 higher education institutions.

Adelaide University is expected to make a significant contribution to the Australian economy, generating approximately AUD$4.7 billion annually, which will increase South Australia's revenues by an additional AUD$500 million annually by 2034.
