Programs and prices, tuition fees in Tufts University Summer Camp

For the summer academic program, each student chooses for himself 1 priority subject (according to which classes are conducted in the morning hours) and 1 elective (studied in the afternoon). So, in the list of basic disciplines the following appear:
- Entrepreneurship (how to open your small business and competently manage it, to use modern tools and social networks - Facebook, Twitter, Groupon - for its promotion and effective advertising);
- Fundamentals of medicine (key, fundamental knowledge about the work of all body systems - the brain, endocrine and immune system, internal microorganisms and bacteria, innovations in modern medical science, the most important issues of our time);
- Economics (microeconomics and macroeconomics: the study of the activities of individual enterprises, as well as of whole states and international associations);
- Developmental psychology (consideration of the most well-known psychological theories - the works of Freud, Piaget, Eriksson, Maslow and Skinner, the evaluation of the validity of theories, review of profile films and reading of books and articles on identified topics and problems);
- Man and law (studying American constitutional law, issues of equality, freedom and property, reading of profile articles and their general discussion, linking politics with the cultural and social aspects of society);
- English as a foreign language (supporting a language course for foreign students aimed at improving overall basic skills - writing and speaking, reading and listening, grammar and vocabulary);
- Writing an essay (excellent preparation for entering a foreign school, college or university: students will learn how to correctly determine the topic and structure, to create unbanal texts and edit them themselves);
- Preparation for SAT (full preparation for the international exam: 18 lessons in mini-groups and 3 test tests, fully consistent with this exam). Please note: the course is paid extra.
The list of available electives (additional disciplines) is presented by the following classes:
- Journalism and social networks (defining the role of the media in the modern world, reviewing the activities of Facebook, Twitter, Google, Vine, their role in promoting brands and shaping public opinion)
- Diplomacy and international relations (features of the activities of political leaders and important figures, their role in world politics and relations between countries, consideration of diplomatic negotiations and their results)
- The psychology of criminal reason (the consideration of the concepts of "de-individualization" and "group thinking" - how mental deviations and disorders can become the cause of crime)
- Speaking English (active development of oral speech, listening and reading - especially the subject will be useful for foreign students wishing to develop spoken English. As an example, informal texts from the media and the Internet are often given, various discussions and seminars on topics close to teenagers are organized)
- Biotechnology and molecular biology, DNA (the use of DNA in modern science, the necessity and uniqueness of working with DNA - the ethical, legal and social issues of various scientific experiments)
- Motivational letters (students will get acquainted with the rules of writing a letter, its structure and mandatory basic parts and theses, at the end of the course each student will write an initial, draft version of the motivation letter for the chosen university)
- The nature of infectious diseases (consideration of the cause of occurrence, peculiarities of the course and consequences of these diseases).
Regardless of the chosen profiles, all students can attend additional seminars and master classes common to all: they can be dedicated to yoga or photo art, public speaking skills and volunteer work, to introduce students to colleges and universities in Boston.

The special summer program of the academic camp at Tufts University was designed to help foreign students to prepare for foreign universities, to improve their academic and language level, to learn a lot about subjects of interest - and, finally, to have fun! The program of each arrival (courses of 2 or 4 weeks duration) provides intensive, interesting and dynamic lessons in selected subjects, master classes and lectures, as well as a huge number of leisure and entertainment events, fascinating excursions and sports games.
Lessons are conducted in small groups of 10-12 people - so each teacher can be sure that he gave each student a maximum of personal attention. Most of the classes are not lectures, but interactive seminars: live communication on a given topic helps to progress as quickly as possible in the English language, as well as to learn new things, to hear another point of view and look at the question from the new side.
Teachers of the summer school are respected and well-known professionals of their field representing the American scientific school: among them there are many professors and practitioners, active specialists, famous scientists and artists.
Estimated weekday schedule:
- 8: 30-9: 15 = breakfast
- 9: 15-11: 45 = morning studying session on the main subjects
- 12: 00-13: 0 = lunch, rest
- 15: 00-18: 00 = thematic master classes; educational session on optional selected subjects
- 18: 30-21: 00 = dinner; free time and leisure
- 21: 00-22: 30 = evening activities and entertainment
- 23:00 = turn-down and hibernation.

For students of the summer course, the most saturated, diverse and interesting leisure program is specially developed. The number of events in the daytime and evening time is huge: it can be the Casino Evening or the Olympic Games, the game "Capture the Flag", the battle with water balls and the Talent Show. Children are engaged in the design of postcards and origami, they create jewelry, participate in the competition of detective stories and in the championship on Frisbee.
