Summer Camp of Barnard College is designed for students from 13 to 17 years old, offering a rich program of English language preparation, recreation and entertainment. The center is aimed at teaching foreign students who would like to gain international academic experience, immerse themselves in the language environment, explore the sights of New York and meet students of other nationalities.

Students are taught by qualified teachers who are certified to teach English as a foreign language. What is the refund or cancellation policy in case of unforeseen circumstances?

We have a flexible refund and cancellation policy that takes into account unforeseen circumstances such as illness, travel restrictions, or emergencies. We understand that plans may need to change, and we work with parents to accommodate their needs whenever possible.

Students follow a strict schedule, which includes hours for getting up and going to bed, visiting the dining room, classes and extracurricular activities. Throughout their stay in the camp, each student is surrounded by comprehensive support and attention, thanks to which he feels comfortable, safe and receives only positive emotions from the summer holidays in the United States.

The residence for summer students is located on the academic grounds and accepts no more than 150 students each week. Students are accommodated in spacious apartments with four double bedrooms, a shared bathroom, a living room and a kitchen. Each bedroom is perfectly furnished, giving the student ample personal space. The kitchens in the apartments have the necessary household appliances for making drinks and snacks, and the living rooms have TVs, reading and self-study corners.

Every day, students receive a balanced three meals a day according to the menu, which is worked on by a team of qualified chefs. Students visit the dining hall three times a day, choosing dishes from a wide variety, including vegetarian. If the student has special dietary, religious, or medical nutritional needs, they will be provided with an alternative menu.

Almost every day, students can expect a rich program of campus and field events, thanks to which they will be able to broaden their horizons, explore the culture of the United States, meet new people and practice spoken English. Sports, creative and entertainment events are organized on the training grounds: from games, master classes to parties, National Days.

The two—week program includes two full-day excursions and four half-day excursions. During the trips, students will see the famous sights of New York: the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park and much more.

The campus of Barnard College, Columbia University is located in the heart of upper Manhattan, in the Morningside Heights area, adjacent to seven major American universities. The area offers an extensive selection of shops and restaurants, an abundance of green spaces, and a campus atmosphere. The road to New York will take about an hour by public transport.

The learning area offers modern classrooms, self-study and individual study areas, equipped rooms and open spaces for events. There is a fitness center with cardio and weight training equipment, and outdoor playgrounds.

The center's programs are usually conducted in June-August, the duration varies from one to four weeks at the request of the student. Most of the students stay at the summer camp for two weeks, during which they manage to effectively improve their language skills and visit the iconic sights of the city. The weekly balanced schedule will include academic classes in the morning, field trips and campus activities in the afternoon and evenings.

The price of the two-week program already includes all language lessons and educational materials, accommodation and meal plan, extracurricular activities, graduation certificate, sightseeing transfers for groups. Additionally, you will have to pay:

Applicants fill out a detailed questionnaire, provide personal documents and pay the registration fee. The center's staff conducts a short interview in order to learn more about the future student, as well as an assessment language test. Considering applications in turn, the admissions committee recruits groups according to the level of the language and invites them to study.

Each week, the summer camp accommodates up to 150 students, recruiting new students subject to availability.

Upon completing the course, students receive a graduation certificate confirming their progress in learning English: the number of hours attended, initial and current levels of linguistics. Thanks to the knowledge and skills gained, the certificate students can continue their education in an English-speaking institution and confidently speak English in everyday life, travel easily.

The summer course is aimed at students from 13 to 17 years old who have any level of English proficiency. The main requirement for studying at a language center is a valid passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit.

In addition, students have access to the Employability English business elective, which requires an age of 14 years or more and knowledge of English from B1.
