Johnson&Wales University Charlotte (JWU Charlotte) is a campus of one of the leading private universities in the United States, located in Charlotte. This branch offers bachelor's degree programs in several sought-after scientific specialties, including entrepreneurship, economics, and medicine.

The history of JWU began in 1914 with the creation of a business school in Providence, which opened for one (!) student and had only a typewriter in the infrastructure. The institution got its name in honor of its founders, Gertrude I. Johnson and Mary T. Wales, and it still retains it. Years later, the American business school received a new academic territory, expanded the staff of teachers and earned accreditation to become one of the most competitive universities in the country today. The main campus remains in Providence, while the affiliated academic site is located in Charlotte.

The institution has many advantages, including modern teaching methods and an extensive range of opportunities for obtaining applied skills in the specialty, an active student life outside of classes, and a personalized approach to each student. The Charlotte campus differs from the main campus in its smaller size and, as a result, in a more homely, comfortable atmosphere for focusing on studies and individual goals.

What advice would you give to students aiming for top U.S. universities, with 3-4 years to prepare?

This period is perfect for assessing capabilities and exploring options of universities. Focus on achieving high grades and improving English proficiency. Strong English skills enhance your learning experience, and good grades can lead to scholarships or honors college admissions.

Two JWU Charlotte residences offer housing for 700 students annually. Both residential buildings are designed for first- and senior-year students, and have rooms in several formats: two-, three-, and four-bedroom suites with two bedrooms, each designed for two students. The rooms are equipped with bathrooms, high-speed Wi-Fi and wired Internet access, and common areas include a game room, self-study classes, and laundries.

The campus has a main dining hall and several cafeterias offering various dishes based on national and international cuisine recipes. Students can arrange a meal plan that includes a certain number of meals per semester, additional dollars for discounted purchases.

An extensive range of extracurricular activities allows students to realize their potential in areas of interest to them, try their hand at new hobbies and find like-minded people. The JWU Charlotte campus is located in the heart of Charlotte's Uptown neighborhood. Occupying several buildings, the university offers a modern infrastructure for academic, creative and athletic development. Studying takes place in theory classrooms, specialized laboratories and studios, computer rooms, a library and many other facilities, and music classrooms, a drama theater with rehearsal rooms, design studios and other art areas are prepared on campus for extracurricular activities.

The sports center covers an area of 33,000 square feet and includes:

Frazier Park, located within walking distance of the campus, is used by JWU Charlotte students during soccer, tennis, basketball, and track and field training.

The academic calendar includes three trimesters.:
