Prep, Primary School

  • Age of students — from 8 to 12 years,
  • The term of study is six years.

The primary school program covers education in grades 3-8. This stage is very important, because during these years students master a wide range of subjects at a more complex academic level than at the previous educational stage. Elementary schools create a strong base of knowledge and skills that will be useful to students in the future and will allow them to achieve excellent results in the exams of secondary and high schools.

As the students grow up, the curriculum becomes more complex:

  • Grades 4-5 is an established curriculum that includes humanities and natural sciences,
  • In the 5th grade, students begin to study Latin.,
  • Grade 6 is a continuation of the basic curriculum with natural sciences and humanities, which are now taught as separate subjects,
  • Grades 7-8 are in—depth studies of English, mathematics, computer science, fine arts, history, geography and other disciplines.

During the studies, children can choose two languages: French, Italian, Latin or Spanish. Each of them is taught by a qualified teacher as an additional to the English language, and can be studied in a standard or more in-depth format.

Description of Harrodian School

  • Location: London, England,
  • Year of foundation: 1993,
  • Number of students: about 925,
  • Language of instruction: English,
  • Type of studying: mixed.

Harrodian School is a private school for students from 4 to 18 years old.

The institution was founded in 1993 as a co-educational school. It still adheres to the basic tenets of its creators — only its scale and the number of pupils have increased, the level of infrastructure and technical equipment has improved (and continues to be regularly upgraded). Initially, the school taught 65 students and included 12 staff, and today almost 1,000 students, including foreigners, obtain education here.

The main purpose of the studying is the full disclosure of children's talents and abilities, encouraging their activities in any field: academic, creative, sports, social and volunteering. Each pupil is considered as a unique, distinctive and valuable person, regardless of his age and origin. Students can freely express and defend their opinions, and warm, friendly relations have been established between students, teachers and staff. In addition to creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, this helps to develop a sense of tact, good manners, mutual understanding, and etiquette. Harrodian School specialists maintain close contact with the parents of their students in order to adjust the curriculum, offering the best conditions for achieving goals.

Educational process

In addition to the extensive range of subjects studied by Harrodian School pupils, they are given the opportunity to broaden their academic horizons and achieve even higher goals: children attend psychological and scientific seminars, can request individual lessons in subjects to revise difficult topics or delve deeper into more complex ones — qualified teachers and specialized staff provide comprehensive support to each pupil.
