What advice do you have for potential applicants before applying to US universities?

Choose a university that really suits you - do not try to "adjust" yourself to a prestigious or ranked university. If you are not sure of your capabilities, do not dwell on the first top 10: believe me, many opportunities of less prestigious universities will be able to give you what you need to develop and become a specialist.

Educational process

Colorado State University offers the opportunity to study, conduct research, or do internships in more than 80 countries – about 20% of students go to study abroad each year. Exchange programs will allow students to expand their academic horizons, gain international educational experience, and immerse themselves in the study of other cultures and languages.

Departments have been created on the campus that comprehensively support students of all faculties and specializations. Employees provide assistance in various aspects of student life, whether it is the selection of academic subjects to achieve a goal, the organization of internships, the search for a place for employment or contacts to assist with specialized organizations.

Faculties and colleges

Teaching of higher education programs in USA is organized at specialized faculties:

  • Engineering
  • Business
  • Agricultural Sciences,
  • Health, humanities,
  • Natural resources,
  • Veterinary Medicine, Biomedical Sciences,
  • Liberal Arts,
  • Science.

Scientific achievements

CSU regularly publishes a research journal that highlights the work of its researchers working on important global issues. Whether it's tackling the climate crisis or discovering new ways to protect communities from wildfires, research centres are engaged in important projects in which students are also involved.

An outstanding research area is the study of infectious and oncological diseases. The Regional Biocontainment Laboratory, funded by the National Institutes of Health, is home to scientists developing vaccines and cures for some of the world's most devastating diseases. It is home to one of the 10 U.S. Regional Centers of Excellence for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases, funded by a $40 million grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Much of the cancer supercluster, which includes the collaboration of the five colleges, is based on the work of the university's CSU Animal Cancer Center, the largest center of its kind in the world.

Things to know about

Colorado State University has its own symbolism, like other leading universities in the world. Its symbol is a ram, which is depicted on flags, emblems, documents, and a real ram lives on campus, the care of which is organized under the guidance of older students. The totem animal participates in many campus events, including athletic competitions.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The Colorado State University campus has excellent conditions for living and eating, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Students have access to 15 comfortable residences with different types of rooms, including family rooms, as well as a student village for students continuing their studies, preparing for transfer or conducting scientific research.

12 of the 15 residences are residential buildings for the majority. Their occupancy is mainly based on their membership in the faculty. The buildings offer:

  • Public double and single deluxe rooms (the difference between them is the presence of a neighbor, private or shared bathroom),
  • Shared kitchen and dining areas, fully equipped with necessary household appliances for cooking and storing food,
  • Recreation areas with board games, TV,
  • Quiet classes for self-study, working on projects in small groups,
  • Laundries,
  • High-speed Wi-Fi,
  • Automatic connection of the power plan.

Aggie Village, which opened in 2016, is home to undergraduate students, students transferring to other educational institutions, and masters. Aggie Village residents benefit from a convenient location, fully furnished apartments, all-inclusive rates, study rooms, staff support, and regular leisure programs. The infrastructure of residential buildings in the student village includes:

  • Studios, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments with bathrooms,
  • Shared kitchens, dining areas on the floors,
  • Laundries,
  • Recreation and self-study areas,
  • High-speed Wi-Fi (utilities are already included in the price).

Students who wish to stay at the university with their family can book a room in one of three small family residences.:

  • Aggie Village Family — two-room apartments with or without furniture, playground, laundry facilities and 24-hour service,
  • International House — one- and two-bedroom apartments with full furniture, laundries and public areas nearby,
  • University Village — two-, three-bedroom apartments with or without furniture, shared kitchens and laundries on site, playground in the courtyard.

If a student would like to be accommodated off—campus, they can request support from the CSU administrative staff - they will be provided with a list of verified agencies and individuals for rental housing. There are several large restaurants on the territory of Colorado State University, each of which offers a unique menu with dishes of national and international cuisines. Those living on campus need to apply for one of the offered meal plans, which represents a certain number of meals per semester, additional points for the purchase of snacks in university stores. Almost every CSU institution has a diet, vegetarian, and vegan menu that supports students with special nutritional needs.
