Western Australia has introduced a new program to support talented international students who have successfully passed the international Western Australian Certificate of Education exam. The previous project was replaced by a new financial aid scheme for international students who have received a WACE certificate overseas and plan to continue their studies at one of the five universities in Western Australia or in accredited continuing education programs.
Every year, the government allocates one million US dollars to support international students. The updated program provides for the payment of annual grants in the amount of:
- Up to $50,000 to two WACE graduates with the best academic results,
- Up to $30,000 for each of the 30 most successful alumni.
The application campaign is underway right now, the next qualifying round starts on January 30.
Summary: The initiative is part of Western Australia's broader strategy to support international education, diversify the economy and attract skilled professionals.
